After Turkey Makes Me Sleepy member Eric Matchett moved to Oregon at the turn of the 21st Century (far away from his Lawrence, Kansas, collaborators), the band members began to work occasionally on various projects by mailing and emailing sounds back and forth to one another. It wasn’t until 2005, however, that they put together their first actual Turkey Makes Me Sleepy album since the year 2000: “Six With Pix."

The album was constructed in a manner similar to the way their first (1997) album was constructed, each piece being a mix of three tracks, which were each created at a different time and place by a different member of the band. Of course, technology and the band members’ skills and influences had advanced considerably since the year 2000, giving the resulting recording a fresh new sound. A wide variety of instruments, sonic generators, sampled sounds, voices, sound effects, and recording techniques were used to create the compositions on this album.
